The Parkside Family
Parkside is a community of Christ-followers who desire authentic relationships with each other and with God our Father. God has a purpose for each of our lives, and that includes you! God has placed us in this community to be a light and a place for answers in a confusing world.
No matter who you are, what you have been through, or where you come from, you are welcome at Parkside. We desire to help people find God, grow their faith, discover their purpose, and make a difference. Accomplishing that mission involves helping you plug into this community to help you live out your faith. We are committed to impacting our community, our nation, and our world for Jesus Christ. We would love for you to join us!
Parkside Baptist Church was originally established as the Westside Mission by the First Baptist Church of Denison. Our first service was held on May 15, 1949, in the Sam Houston Elementary School auditorium. In just a few months, the Westside Mission grew quickly and became a full-fledged church named Parkside Baptist Church. Even after two additions to the original building, it was determined in 1978 that Parkside needed to relocate to a larger piece of land.
A total of 22 acres from Lillis Lane on the east to what is now Highway 75 on the west was purchased and a combined worship center/education building was eventually constructed. The first service in the new facility, which we now occupy, was held on November 6, 1988. Parkside has recently completed construction on a Recreation Outreach Center that is providing much-needed space as well as recreation facilities to help reach the community for Christ.
We're more than a staff; we're a family. We are dedicated followers of Jesus, who use our unique God-given talents and passions to spread God's Word across the globe, as well as to help one another grow and follow the calling God has placed on our lives. We exist to serve and equip God's people.
At Parkside we believe the Bible is the sole basis of our faith. It is uniquely God-inspired, trustworthy, and the final authority. Based on Bible's teaching, there is one God who sent his Son for our sins by dying on the cross as our substitute. By the Holy Spirit believers are drawn to Christ and equipped for personal growth. Our aim at parkside is to glorify God and make him known.
Parkside has visitors’ parking spaces on the north side parking lot in front of our Recreation Outreach Center. Look for signs directing you to the visitor parking areas. There are also handicapped parking spaces on both the north and south parking lots.
