refugee Sponsorship Mission

Refugee Sponsorship Mission

Last Sunday, our church voted to move forward in partnership with Samaritan’s Purse to sponsor two Ukrainian refugee families. Parkside Baptist Church will walk alongside the newcomers for 2 years to assist them with transition, adjustment, assimilation, and independence. They are coming to the United States under Humanitarian Parole Status.

Our Form I-134 application has been submitted and is being processed by USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services). Currently, we have applied to sponsor a family of three; Eugene, Kateryna, and Daniel, so please be in prayer for them.

Our sweet Lord is giving us an opportunity to be His hands and feet to help these individuals to safety and to start a new life here in Denison. While we continue to patiently wait for the proper vetting and processing to complete, we will also continue to diligently prepare for their safe arrival. We have a home ready to welcome them, and if you would like to help with furnishing the home, we have the needs listed and organized on the Fellowship Hallway bulletin board. They are leaving their war-torn country and coming with only what they can carry in their suitcases. Please consider being a part of this wonderful privilege and blessing to help those in need.

We are excited and thank God for this opportunity to love because He first loved us. We look forward to welcoming and being hospitable to strangers from foreign lands. It is a privilege to serve Him and to minister to them. “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these, my brothers, you did it to me.” Matthew 25:40

Please continue to be in prayer for our church, sponsorship leaders, the process, Eugene, Kateryna, and Daniel. We pray for their safety, for the paperwork to be approved and for travel permits to be granted. We pray for His will to be done. In all we do, we seek to honor Him.
